IV. Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs / improvements:

Each faculty is assigned certain number of students for mentoring. PDIS students visit various industries, spend around Eight weeks for in-plant Training in the 1st semester and one week industrial visit and Eight week Project Work in industry during 2nd semester, Students study activities related to safety aspects and submit the report under the guidance of respective faculty member allotted to them. The faculty members are also involved in counseling and guiding the students for their development in extra curricular activities and presentation on their experiences of various industries etc. For students of Diploma in Metallurgy, industrial training of 4 weeks at the end of First year, Second year and Third year is organised under the supervision of faculty members.

17. Purchased ER 400 mobile robot a unique robot in the country under AICTE modrob scheme during the year 2008-09 at RYMEC, Bellary.


18. Nirmithi Kendra in the college campus restarted its activities to produce low cost building materials at RYMEC, Bellary.


19. Conducted a programme on release of CAED II Edition on 22nd September, 2009, which was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kincha, VTU, Belgaum.


20. Several workshops and seminars were arranged and conducted successfully in all most all the departments in view of LIC and NBA Committee visits at RYMEC, Bellary.


21. The accounts section of the college is fully computerized by installing Tally at RYMEC, Bellary.


22. Initiated to start a consultancy cell in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at RYMEC, Bellary. The necessary instruments and equipments have been procured.


23. Streamlined the establishment section to maintain the Service Registers of the employees of the Institution at RYMEC, Bellary.


24. Received TPED (Thomas Edison program for Environment & E-learning development) grant of Rs.17, 84,950/- from USA for establishing Digital Library in the college at RYMEC, Bellary..


25. Organized faculty empowerment programme Mission 10X by Wipro from 15th Feb to 19th Feb 2010Arranged LIC, VTU Inspection twice on 26.02.2008 & 11.02.2009& and successfully obtained the continuation of affiliation at RYMEC, Bellary..
